Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
Assessment and diagnosis for mental health disorders and related problems including anxiety, depression O.C.D. eating disorders, post traumatic stress disorder and ADHD. Treatment would be based on evidenced based therapies and interventions and may include C.B.T., psychosocial education, EMDR, family work, one to one talking therapy, group work and medication; or a combination of these.
The service is made up of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, psychotherapists, nurses, psychologists and social workers and referrals can be made through professionals such as school nurse, GPs, Educational psychologists etc.
The service also offers advice, consultation and training in child mental health to professionals working with young people in Wrexham.
