Local Democracy Week
Democracy Week takes place in Wrexham between 11th - 17th October 2008.
The campaign is about making young people aware of their local council and getting involved in local politics - in a fun way!
'Lets hear about it' encourages young people and the Council to work together to change the community for the better.

SATURDAY 11th OCTOBER 11am - 2pm
Launch at Queens Square. Calon FM will be providing entertainment.
Council departments that will be taking part in the event will include Recycle with Michael, School Transport, Electoral Services, Wrexham Play Team, Leisure, Second Voice, INFO Shop and outside bodies Funky Dragon and Canllaw Online.

TUESDAY 14th October
School Council elections taking place at various secondary schools in Wrexham. Vote to be heard!
WEDNESDAY 15th October
Councillors go back to school (Daytime)
Wrexham Rocks Democracy @ Central Station. Four local young bands play from 7pm until 10.30pm
THURSDAY 16th October
LDW @ Yale with Duke of Edinburgh Scheme - Promoting local democracy in a fun way!
FRIDAY 17th October
Secondary School Council Training 10am - 2pm at Gwersyllt Resource Centre
Young People learn how to help run an effective school council.
