Inspire Hospital Youth Work Project
A partnership between Wrexham County Borough Council and the North East Wales NHS Trust.
The aim of the project is to provide support to young people aged 11 - 18 who have been admitted to Wrexham Maelor Hospital after self harming. Support may also be offered to vulnerable young people identified by staff.
Young people will usually be referred by the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) who on assessment of a young person may feel it is appropriate to refer to the Youth Work in Hospital Team. Alternatively, a staff member on children or adult wards may contact the team to refer a young person who they consider to be vulnerable and would benefit from additional support. The young people referred to the team will be supported whilst in the Maelor and for up to eight weeks after discharge.
